Question and Answer
Removable partial denture
A removable partial denture is used to replace one or more lost teeth in the same arch that may or may not be close to each other. A Cobalt chrome metal framework is occasionally used to strengthen the acrylic foundation of the denture.
It will commonly feature metal clasps that go over your existing teeth, firmly retaining the denture in place while also allowing for easy removal. Some are composed of a flexible nylon material with gum-colored nylon clasps to make them less apparent in the mouth.
